Why this exists

Almost every free time card calculator applies one rule: overtime after 40 hours a week. For people working in California, Alaska, Colorado or Nevada, that answer can be wrong on a normal week. Bonuses are usually ignored too, even though federal law folds them into the rate overtime is paid at.HoursCheck is built to get those cases right, and to show its sources so you can check it.

Who is behind it

HoursCheck is built and maintained by Ian. Every state rule on the site is checked against a primary source, and every change is dated on the changelog.
