Weekly Time Card Calculator
One workweek, seven days, every punch. Overtime is counted the way the law counts it — per workweek — with your state's daily rules on top.

Sep 13 – Sep 19What a 40-hour-only calculator would have told you
$96.00 lessA calculator that only knows the federal 40-hour rule would show $1,104.00 for this period. Under California rules the total is $1,200.00.
How a weekly time card works
A weekly time card covers one workweek: a fixed, recurring block of seven days that can start on any day. Federal overtime is owed on every hour over 40 in that workweek, however the hours are spread across the days.
Example: five days of 8:00am to 5:30pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch is 9 hours a day and 45 hours for the week — 5 of them overtime. At $20 an hour that is $950.00, not the $900.00 that straight time would give.
When the day matters as much as the week
In California — and for some workers in Alaska, Nevada and Colorado — a long day earns overtime even in a short week. Choose your state and the weekly time card applies the daily rule as well as the weekly one.
Weekly Time Card Calculator: common questions
Does my workweek have to start on Sunday?
No. A workweek can start on any day and at any hour, as long as it is a fixed, recurring seven-day period. Set it with Workweek starts above. Your employer can move the start day, but only as a permanent change, and not to avoid paying overtime.
How many hours in a week before overtime?
Under federal law, overtime starts after 40 hours in a workweek and is paid at 1.5 times your regular rate. Minnesota's own threshold is 48, but jobs covered by federal law still use 40. California, and some workers in Alaska, Nevada and Colorado, also count long days — check your state in the calculator.
Can I print or export my weekly timesheet?
Yes. Print timesheet gives a clean page with every day, your regular, overtime and double-time hours, and gross pay. Download CSV exports the same week as a spreadsheet file for Excel, Google Sheets or most payroll tools. Nothing is uploaded — the file is created in your browser.
